During this topic children will:
- Learn about animals in their habitats and how they adapt to different conditions
- Create African landscapes using different mediums in art
- Investigate the Savannah Plains
- Create paintings in the style of Lois Mailou Jones Painting techniques (Acrylic on black and Batik on cotton)
- Explore Islam - focusing on Muhammad & the Quran
- Investigate states of matter
- Sing a range of songs with control and expression
Over the first half of the Spring term, we will be reading the following book:
The Vikings
During this topic children will:
- Learn about the Viking way of life
- Write recounts and stories linked to the Vikings
- Make and evaluate our own Viking brooches
- create a Viking Tree of Life (Stained glass)
- investigate animals, including humans
- Explore Islam - focusing on the Mosque and prayer
- visit a Mosque
