During this topic children will:

work on place value of 3 digit numbers

work on mental and written methods to support the addition and subtraction of 3 digit numbers.

These are some of the books we will be reading over the first half of the Autumn Term:
We use tiered Vocabulary Word Mats to develop children's use of vocabulary in their written work.
You can support your child by helping them to learning the vocabulary for the topic and completing the home learning tasks.
The Savage Stone Age
During this topic children will:

Write recounts and instructions following our trip back into the Stone Age at Thorndon Park.

Solve a number of Stone Age problems in Mathematics lessons linked to multiplication and division.

Investigate the similarities and differences between rocks and soils.

Looked at stone age painting techniques to incorporate them in a paper mache tool design.
