- Learn the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and write their own twisted tale.
- Begin to become more adept at telling the time.
- Solve problems involving fractions.
- Explore the work of the artist Rousseau and recreate the ‘tiger in the jungle’ painting.
- Discuss why people have different views of God.
- Understand how they can be a responsible global citizen.

During this topic children will
- Perform their version of the Jack and the Beanstalk story.
- Visit Colchester zoo to find out more about habitats.
- Write character descriptions from the story of the Lighthouse Keepers lunch.
- Compare the seaside habitats of the UK with other parts of the world.
- Design, make and evaluate their own fruit ice lollies.
- Identify and locate the oceans and continents around the world.
- Explore the book Flotsam.
